Currently, there are several hardware devices available that help medics to monitor physical activity of human or animals. Many of them are sophisticated and provide loads of data. Different devices offer various approaches as well as many measurements types and outcome data.

There is a group of hardware that provides accelerometry data. Accellerometry is scientifically proved to be an easy and precise approach for measuring human or animal physical activity. Typically, hardware measures an accelerometry force at a constant rate. The rate or in other words the frequency of measurement may vary from device to device. Acelerometery is recorded and extracted afterwords for further analysis and processing.

One of such hardware pieces is an ActivePal device that has a built-in accelerometer.

This project aims to make it easier for clinicians and researches to deal with the actual data output that comes from the device. Software is designed to store, process and analyse activity monitoring sessions. Typically, a session represents a set of data - date and value relations. A session takes around 7 days of monitoring of physical activity. But this may be different depending on the aims of the research.

This project allows user to manage personal data needed for the research, such age, Body Mass Index, height, weigh etc.

Currently, there is a native commercial software available from the ActivePal. Microsoft Excell is also used to process the data. However, those products do not provide a flexible data management approach. It is also difficult or impossible to apply advanced filtering and analysis (such as Fourier or wavelet analysis) to the data.

We are trying to solve these problems in this project.
