Semester learning experiment in game design with basic physics and particle effects. Built using XNA and the TorqueX engine.
We have lots of bugs, but this was more of a learning exercise! Final presentations were loads of fun.
Controls are as follows:
Player 1: W,A,S,D - Move V - Shoot Q,E - Cycle weapons
Player 2: Arrow Keys - Move ? - Shoot/Cut/Grab Alt/Ctrl - Cycle Weapons
If you have XBox Controllers they work as well. Should be self-evident although cumbersome how the gamepads work. Currently there is a known bug where disconnecting/connecting controllers on some systems causes a hard lock of the system. So make sure the game isn't running when attaching them. Seems to occur only with wireless controllers.
There is a PDF to the right containing our presentation in low quality form. The formating is a bit wonky though with images. The presentation looked much better in person, honest.
-You can find source for the XNA game itself in our repository on this page. -The source of the custom level editor is also provided as a zip-archive with the binary included.
The binary of The Second Coming is also provided as a downloadable zip-archive. Should work on all systems with XNA installed. Let us know if there are any difficulties. Compiled with XNA 1.0 Refresh.
Special thanks to the Microsoft MVP's and our professor for providing guidance and critical feedback.
Thanks, Mike, Ryan, and Steve.
